The 2003 mecha series Marriage of God & Soul Godannar!! has arrived on HIDIVE and Hulu, complete with English dub and subtitle options. The show kicks off on the wedding day of pilot Goh Saruwatari and Anna Aoi, only for their ceremony to be crashed by the alien force known as the Mimesis. When Goh is overwhelmed, Anna pilots the secret robot Neo-Okusaer, merging with Goh's Dannar to become the titular Godannar.
Produced by OLM, the studio behind Pokémon and Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I, Godannar!! blends super robot action with romantic comedy and ecchi elements. It's the first entry in the Godannar franchise, followed by a second season that continued the story of Goh and Anna.
With 13 episodes covering the initial alien invasion and the formation of Godannar, the complete first season offers a self-contained, albeit brief, look at the series' unique blend of giant robots and marital mishaps.
