MAPPA has officially announced an anime adaptation of usagi's comedy manga Jimoto Saikou!, with a worldwide release slated for Netflix. The news broke during MAPPA's 15th Anniversary Event, which also unveiled the main production staff and a teaser visual for the series.

The production team includes director Tokio Igarashi, known for his work on Ranma ½ (2024), and Ryou Takada, who handled scripting for Neko Neko Nihonshi 2nd Season, will pen the script. Rio will serve as character designer, with Naoki Takada as art director and Yukiko Kakita on color design. Kaori Yoneda is the director of photography, Yousei Sawai is the 3DCG director, and Tomoki Nagasaka is the editor. Takahiro Ogawa is the animation producer.

Jimoto Saikou! began serialization on X (formerly Twitter) in September 2020 before moving to an official series account in February 2021. Saizusha began publishing the manga in print in 2021, with the eighth e-book volume released in August 2025. The story centers on girls who, despite facing hardships, remain devoted to their hometowns, proclaiming, "My hometown is the best!"
