Shueisha has updated its MANGA Plus platform with four new series, continuing its push to bring a wider variety of titles to international readers. The additions, which arrived on the service between late August and early September, feature a mix of genres and narrative styles.

Leading the new arrivals is KAKAKAKA, written by Mukade Makino. Set against the backdrop of 17th-century Ming China, the series follows two brothers living without official identities who attempt to change their fortunes through the imperial examination system. The story centers on the elder brother's dangerous decision to impersonate a powerful man's son, kicking off a narrative focused on ambition and revenge.

In addition to Makino's historical drama, the platform has integrated The Ura Files and Noisering into its library, alongside one other unlisted title. These additions reflect the ongoing expansion of the service's digital-first catalog, which often serves as a global testing ground for new Shonen Jump and Jump+ properties.

Why it matters: The inclusion of these specific titles suggests a continued focus on diversifying the platform's historical and niche genre offerings, though it remains to be seen which of these will secure a long-term serialized run based on reader engagement metrics.
