A stage play adaptation of the beloved classic anime Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi has been announced. The production is set to run from August 5th to August 9th at CBGK Shibugeki!! in Shibuya.

Headlining the cast are actress Norika Fujiwara and child star Nonoka Murakata. They will be joined by Junpei Sahigashi, Takuma Suehara, Rinpei Takahashi, Megumi Wakabayashi, Taira Imata, and Kōsei Shiozaki. Notably, Takuma Suehara will also take on multiple creative roles, serving as the director, screenwriter, and composer for the stage production.

Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi, which draws from Japanese folktales, originally aired in two distinct runs: January to March 1975, and January 1976 until 1994. The extensive anime series comprised a total of 1,470 episodes.
