During their panel at Otakon this past Friday, Manga Mavericks Books revealed a trio of new manga acquisitions to join their growing library. The publisher confirmed that the list includes the one-shot Oni King by creator Zenzo, alongside two other titles.
Oni King follows the story of Oniou, a demon child seeking vengeance against the monster Kurokazemaru after his mother is kidnapped. The narrative centers on a dark bargain: Oniou discovers a cursed club named Gako that grants him the strength to challenge his foe, but at the steep price of his own life force. The story explores the heavy consequences of pursuing retribution, questioning whether the cost of vengeance is ultimately worth the outcome.
Originally published in the 2023 indie anthology Revengers at Comiket, the one-shot is scheduled to hit digital storefronts in December 2026. Manga Mavericks Books has confirmed that a physical print release for the title will follow at a later, yet-to-be-announced date.
