During their panel at Anime NYC this past Friday, Manga Mavericks Books confirmed the acquisition of two new manga titles for their 2027 publishing lineup. The most prominent of the two is Midnight Robot (Yoru no Robot), an action-heavy sci-fi series by Yōhei Sajita.
Midnight Robot follows Fumiko Daidouji, whose mundane life is upended when her estranged father returns with a bizarre gift: a screw implanted in her skull. The device, intended to protect her from a clandestine organization, instead makes her a target for those looking to summon a colossal machine. The narrative promises a high-stakes adventure involving parallel dimensions and global catastrophe.
Sajita’s work has a long history, having originally been self-published by the author in 2015. The series later found a home on the Hayacomi website in 2024, where it continues to run. Hayakawa Publishing has been handling the collected volumes, with the second release arriving in September 2025. Manga Mavericks Books plans to bring the series to English-speaking readers in May 2027.
