The dystopian sci-fi suspense title Kin to Tetsu (Fungus and Iron) has finished its serialization. Creator Ayaka Katayama brought the story to a close with the 105th chapter, featured in the October 2026 issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. This marks the end of a five-year journey for the series, which first debuted in the magazine back in March 2021.

Readers following the English digital release can look forward to the conclusion of the print run, as Kodansha prepares to ship the tenth and final compiled volume on October 8. Kodansha USA has been managing the English digital distribution since early 2022, with the ninth volume having been released this past July.

While the manga narrative is now complete, the franchise is moving toward its next phase. Production company VAP revealed plans for a television anime adaptation on March 4. With the source material now fully realized, the production team has a finished roadmap for the adaptation, though details regarding the animation studio, key staff, or a release window have yet to be shared.
