The long-running slice-of-life series Hirayasumi is approaching its conclusion. Author Keigo Shinzou announced via his official social media account that the manga, which has been serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits since April 2021, will wrap up its story in just two more chapters.
Since its debut, the series has garnered significant critical acclaim, including nominations for the 15th and 17th Manga Taisho and a win at the 71st Shogakukan Manga Award. VIZ Media currently manages the English-language release, with the ninth volume having arrived in stores this past May. The story follows the laid-back Hiroto Ikuta, who unexpectedly inherits a house in Asagaya and begins an unconventional living arrangement with his art-student cousin, Natsumi.
While the source material is nearing its end, the franchise is set to expand into animation. An anime adaptation produced by Production +h. is currently in development and scheduled for a January 2027 premiere. With the manga's narrative arc now finalized, it remains to be seen how closely the upcoming anime will adapt the series' conclusion.
