The supernatural horror series The Summer Hikaru Died (Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu) is approaching its conclusion. According to an announcement from the series' official social media account, the manga will wrap up its run in just two more installments. The 50th chapter is slated for October 13, followed by the final 51st chapter on October 20.

Created by Mokumokuren, the story began as a web-based project before moving to the Young Ace UP magazine in 2021. The series has seen significant commercial success, with Kadokawa reporting 5 million copies in circulation across print and digital formats. Yen Press, which manages the English-language release, has published five volumes to date, with the sixth volume expected to arrive on October 28.

Beyond the original manga, the franchise has expanded into a light novel series penned by Mio Nukaga, which began publication in late 2023. While the manga is nearing its end, the broader story remains active in other media, including a second season of the anime adaptation currently in production at Cypic. With the source material concluding, it remains to be seen how the anime will adapt the final narrative beats of the series.
