TOHO animation is bringing the culinary antics of Dokagui Daisuki! Mochizuki-san to the screen, with studio Passione tapped to handle the animation production. The announcement arrived alongside a commemorative illustration from series creator Kamome Maruyono, confirming that the manga—which only began serialization in May 2024—is already making the leap to television.
The series follows Mikoto Mochizuki, a 21-year-old office worker whose soft-spoken, gentle demeanor hides a surprising secret: she is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to binge eating. The story centers on her habit of consuming massive, calorie-dense portions of food, blending slice-of-life office tropes with high-energy gourmet comedy.
Despite its relatively short run, the source material has quickly gained traction within the industry. It secured a top-ten spot in the web category at the 2024 Next Manga Awards and placed ninth in the male-readership rankings for the 2026 edition of Kono Manga ga Sugoi!. With the fourth volume of the manga slated for release on September 29, the anime project arrives as the franchise is seeing a rapid surge in popularity.
