The manga community is mourning the loss of Ryoichiro Kezuka, who passed away in late May. The news was confirmed by the official social media account for Kadokawa's Aokishi magazine, where the creator had been a regular contributor for several years.
Kezuka was best known for his work on the manga Record Journey (Onban Kikล), which began serialization in Aokishi in 2021. The series gained international attention through Titan Manga, which licensed the title for English-language release.
Prior to his work with Kadokawa, Kezuka established his career through self-publishing, most notably with the Otomachi Record series. Kadokawa later picked up the title for a wider commercial release, publishing the first volume in January 2023 followed by the second volume just one month later.
