A television anime adaptation of Makoto Morishita's The Fledgling Demon Lord's Starter Shop manga is set to premiere in January 2027. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser promotional video, a teaser visual, and the reveal of the main cast and key staff members.
Reiji Kawashima will voice the protagonist Murabito (Villager), while Rumi Ōkubo takes on the role of Mao. The production will be helmed by project No.9, with Jun Hira directing. Keiichirō Ōchi is handling series scripts, and Katsuyuki Sato is in charge of character designs. The anime's music will be composed by Takurō Iga.
The manga, which began serialization in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in October 2021, follows Villager, an item shop owner in a peaceful world now devoid of demons. His shop, The Nest, faces closure until a mysterious girl appears, changing his fortunes.
Kodansha's K MANGA service publishes the manga in English. The series has released 12 compiled volumes, with the latest shipping in January 2024.
