The television anime adaptation of Majo to Youhei (Witch and Mercenary) has officially set its broadcast window for April 2027. The announcement arrived alongside the series' first promotional video and a second teaser visual, offering a clearer look at the production's aesthetic. The show is slated to air across 30 NTV stations and BS NTV.

New cast members joining the project include Yuri Noguchi as Isana Gayhone, Hiromu Mineta as Alan Clows, and Haruka Shiraishi as Elsia Ahmet. The production team at studio 8Bit, led by director Shinpei Ezaki, has also expanded its roster. Notable additions include Shingo Irie as assistant series composer, along with a specialized team for monster design and chief animation direction, featuring industry veterans like Hideki Sakai and Keita Matsumoto.

Originally launched by Kaeru Chouhoukiteki on the Shousetsuka ni Narou platform in 2021, the series has grown into a significant franchise with 1.7 million copies in circulation. While the light novel continues to release under the GCN Bunko imprint, readers can also follow the manga adaptation by Makoto Miyagi, which is currently available digitally in English via the K Manga platform.

With the core staff and primary cast now established, the focus shifts to how 8Bit will balance the series' action-fantasy roots with its established visual style. Given the involvement of staff members from high-profile projects like Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, which production elements are you most looking forward to seeing in the final cut?
