The anime film adaptation of Mahoutsukai no Yoru (Witch on the Holy Night) has unveiled its full production staff and a final promotional video. Studio ufotable is leading the project, which is confirmed to hit Japanese theaters on November 20. The latest trailer also provides a preview of the theme song, "Yoru to Ao," performed by the pop band supercell.

Masashi Takeuchi, who contributed as an episode director to the Demon Slayer film, steps into the director's chair, with Hikaru Kondou serving as chief director. The production team is heavily populated by veterans of the Type-Moon catalog: art director Kouji Etou returns after his work on Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, and director of photography Yuuichi Terao, known for the Heaven's Feel trilogy, joins the crew. Character design is credited to Moe Tsuzuki.

Written by Kinoko Nasu, the original visual novel serves as a prequel to Lunar Legend Tsukihime within the broader Nasuverse. While the title was a Japan-only release for years following its 2012 debut, it gained international visibility through a 2022 remaster for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, followed by a worldwide Steam launch in 2023. With the studio's established history in the Fate and Demon Slayer franchises, the film represents a significant expansion of the visual novel's reach.
