Mahou no Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e - Magokoro no Duet is set to bring the iconic magical girl series back to the screen this fall. A teaser trailer and key visual were unveiled this week, confirming a theatrical release date of November 13, which will precede the project's eventual home video rollout.
The production has tapped veteran talent to helm the revival, with Ayumu Watanabe, known for his work on Summertime Render, directing at Ashi Productions. The script is being penned by Deko Akao, while the character designs are handled by the duo of Hiroshi Watanabe and Mari Tominaga. Tomoki Hasegawa is attached as the composer for the project.
New cast members joining the production were also revealed, featuring Fukuchi Ochiai as Databook, Natsumi Fujiwara as Chamocha, and industry staple Rie Kugimiya as Pipirupi. This OVA continues the legacy of a franchise that began with the original 63-episode television run in 1982 and saw a second series in 1991, alongside several past OVA releases like Minky Momo in the Bridge Over Dreams and La Ronde in my Dream.
