Mahjong Pros Publishing, the manga imprint of the Mahjong set company Mahjong Pros, has licensed Golden Sakura, a manga by writer Sayaka Okada and artist Kazuo Maekawa. The announcement was made at Anime Expo on Thursday.
Golden Sakura follows Takuya Saotome, a down-on-his-luck professional mahjong player burdened by significant debt. In a desperate last resort, Takuya decides to crossdress as Sakura Shindou and infiltrate the world of women's professional mahjong.
The series is slated for a physical and digital release in November 2026.
