The Love Through a Prism (Prism Rondo) franchise is expanding beyond the screen with a two-volume novel adaptation announced by Shueisha’s Jump J-Books imprint. The new books, titled London no Sora ga Aokatta Hi and Unmei wa Canvas no Mukō ni, are scheduled for release on December 4 and will feature exclusive new cover art.
Directed by Kazuto Nakazawa at Wit Studio, the original anime series premiered on Netflix earlier this year on January 15. The story follows Lili Ichijoin, an aspiring painter navigating the competitive art world of early 1900s London, as she enters a high-stakes rivalry with fellow student Kit Church. The project features original character designs and story contributions from Yōko Kamio, the acclaimed creator behind the global hit Boys Over Flowers.
This novelization follows the series' existing manga adaptation, which was illustrated by Maki Minami and launched on the Shonen Jump+ service and Manga Mee app shortly before the anime's debut. While the anime is currently available on Netflix, the franchise continues to build on the momentum of Kamio's established creative footprint in the shōjo genre. With the manga and novel adaptations now running alongside the original anime, the series is establishing a multi-platform presence for its historical romance narrative.
