Wandance, the upcoming live-action adaptation of Coffee’s celebrated manga, has pulled back the curtain on the creative team responsible for its central dance sequences. The production has assigned dedicated dance supervisors to each lead character to ensure authenticity: Runa Miura will oversee JO (as Kaboku Kotani), KANU will guide Anji Ikehata (as Hikari Wanda), akihic☆彡 is tasked with coaching Kira Yamaguchi (as On Miyao), KEIN will work with Ran Mazzel (as Iori Itsukushima), and SEIYA will supervise Aloha Takamatsu (as Usen Takumi).
Beyond the choreography, the film's auditory landscape is set to be a major highlight. Music producer GuruConnect and the team at origami PRODUCTIONS have curated an extensive soundtrack. The lineup includes contributions from artists such as Nenashi, Michael Kaneko, Kan Sano, and mabanua, featuring tracks like "Eyes on Me feat. GAPPER" and "Deep Sea." These selections aim to capture the vibrant, rhythmic energy of the story's hip-hop dance focus.
Directed by Naoya Kusaba, with a screenplay penned by Keiichi Kobayashi, the film is scheduled for a November 27 debut in Japan. The project benefits from the oversight of Charisma Kantarō, who serves as the film's overall dance supervisor, bridging the gap between the source material's expressive visual language and the live-action medium.
Coffee's original manga, which began serialization in 2019, has become a staple of modern coming-of-age stories, often compared to Blue Period for its focus on artistic self-discovery. This film follows the October 2025 debut of the Wandance television anime, which was made available to international viewers via Disney+.
