Tonight, I Have a Date with a Serial Killer is getting the live-action treatment, and a newly released trailer offers a glimpse at the upcoming series. The trailer prominently features the show's theme song, "Saisaku" (Second Blooming), performed by the popular idol group Super Eight (formerly KANJANI∞).
The series adapts the manga by Kon Iguchi and Yūji Nakamura. It follows police detective Shiro Isogai, who becomes immersed in solving a string of murders. His investigation takes an unexpected turn when he receives tips from Hinata Kuroi, a young woman with a seemingly supernatural ability to locate serial killers. Together, they delve into the city's underbelly to hunt down dangerous criminals.
You Yokoyama, known for his work in the live-action Eight Ranger series, takes on the role of detective Shiro Isogai. Nagisa Sekimizu, who appeared in Machida-kun no Sekai, portrays Hinata Kuroi. The cast also includes Reia Yonekura as Kozue Hasegawa, Sō Okuno as Shinichi Makino, Hirona Yamazaki as Kaede Tsuruoka, and Masahiro Toda as Daigo Satake.
Directed by Hidetaka Sakamoto, Hiroki Inoue, and Toshimitsu Iizuka, with scripts by Norikatsu Kodama and Kōta Edatsune, the series is set to premiere on July 1 in the "Sui-Dora Eleven" block on Kansai TV and other Fuji TV networks. The manga, which launched in June 2024, is being released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. Source: Anime News Network
