Paramount Pictures has debuted a new trailer for the upcoming live-action Street Fighter film, offering a glimpse behind the curtain with commentary from the cast. The footage provides a look at the production's scale while highlighting the actors' personal connections to the long-running CAPCOM fighting game franchise. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 16.

Set in 1993, the narrative follows Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) as they are recruited by Chun-Li (Callina Liang) for a high-stakes World Warrior Tournament. The plot centers on a conspiracy that forces the protagonists to confront their own pasts. The expansive cast includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, and Roman Reigns as Akuma, among many others.

This project represents the first release under a distribution agreement between Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment, which acquired the rights to the franchise in 2023. The filmโ€™s path to the screen has seen several shifts, including a change in distributors from Sony Pictures and a transition in directors from the Philippou brothers to Sakurai. Production for the film officially commenced in Australia in August 2025.

The franchise has a long history of live-action and animated adaptations, ranging from the 1994 Jean-Claude Van Damme film to various anime projects like Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Most recently, the video game series saw the release of Street Fighter 6 in 2023, which later arrived on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
