Paramount Pictures has debuted a new trailer for the upcoming live-action Street Fighter film, offering a glimpse at the 1993-set adaptation. The footage highlights the central conflict, which sees Ryu, played by Andrew Koji, and Noah Centineo’s Ken Masters reunited by Chun-Li (Callina Liang) for a high-stakes World Warrior Tournament. The film is officially slated to hit theaters on October 16.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the project features a sprawling cast that blends Hollywood actors and professional athletes, including Jason Momoa as Blanka, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and David Dastmalchian as the iconic antagonist M. Bison. Production for the film has been underway in Australia since August 2025, marking the first major release under the distribution partnership between Legendary Entertainment and Paramount Pictures.
This production represents the latest attempt to bring the long-running CAPCOM fighting game franchise to live-action, following the 1994 film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and the 2009 spinoff Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. While the franchise has seen various animated adaptations over the decades—most notably the 1994 Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie—this new feature arrives on the heels of the successful 2023 launch of Street Fighter 6, which recently expanded to the Nintendo Switch 2.
