Amazon Prime Video has unveiled an early teaser for its upcoming live-action adaptation of Saki Hiwatari’s seminal manga Please Save My Earth. The brief footage provides a first look at Alice Hirose, known for her roles in Bubble and the Silver Spoon live-action film, stepping into the role of Mokuren. The project is currently slated for a worldwide release on the platform in the fall of 2027.

Behind the camera, the production features director Takahiro Miki, whose previous work includes the live-action Blue Spring Ride and Solanin. The screenplay is being handled by Nana Yamamoto, while Kosuke Anamizu, performing under the name Moshimoss, is set to compose the score. The series is a collaborative effort between Amazon MGM Studios, the production collective The Seven, and Kadokawa Daiei Studio.

This new project brings the classic sci-fi drama back to the screen decades after its original 1993-94 OVA adaptation by Production I.G. While the original manga concluded its run in 1994, the franchise has continued to expand through sequels, including Embraced by the Moonlight and the ongoing Boku wa Chikyū to Utau. With the series moving into live-action, it remains to be seen how much of the original manga's complex, multi-generational narrative will be adapted for this new format.
