The upcoming live-action adaptation of Amu Meguro’s My Sister's Boyfriend (Onē-chan no Midori-kun) has unveiled a fresh teaser trailer and poster, offering a deeper look at its expanding ensemble cast. The footage provides a glimpse into the dynamic between the lead characters and highlights the newest additions to the production.
Rinka Kumada, known for her roles in Otonanajimi and Kimi ni Todoke, has been cast as Momo Sanae, the protagonist's older sister and Midori's girlfriend. Joining her is Reo Matsumoto (I Cannot Reach You), who will portray Sui’s childhood friend, Ayame Mizukawa. They join previously announced leads Masaki Hashimoto of the idol group timelesz as Midori Yukishiro and Runa Nakajima as Sui Sanae.
Directed by Mahito Kimura, whose previous work includes the Blue Spring Ride series, the film adapts the story of a junior high student who finds her perception of her sister's boyfriend shifting after he becomes her home tutor. Nami Kikkawa, who penned the Honey Lemon Soda film, is handling the screenplay. Shochiku is overseeing production and distribution for the project.
The film is set to open in Japanese theaters on December 4. The source material, which began serialization in Bessatsu Margaret in 2022, continues to be a staple of Amu Meguro's portfolio, following the success of her previous works like Honey So Sweet.
