Strange -Junji Ito's Strange Stories for Sleepless Nights-, a new live-action omnibus series adapting 13 tales from horror manga master Junji Ito, has unveiled its first teaser video and key visual. The series is set to debut on TV Tokyo's "Drama 24" block on July 3 at 24:12 (effectively July 4 at 12:12 a.m. JST), with a later broadcast on BS TV Tokyo on July 12.

Fans attending Anime Expo 2026 will get an early look, with the first two episodes, "The Mansion of Phantom Pain" and "Lovesickness" (Part 1), receiving a special screening on July 3. This screening will mark the world premiere for the second episode, as only the first will have aired in Japan by that date. The series is also being listed under the English titles "Junji Ito Masterpiece Collection" and "Junji Ito Masterpieces" for the event.

Adding to the production's international flair, South Korean girl group IVE will perform the opening theme song "Jigsaw." Meanwhile, South Korean singer-songwriter Jeong-yeol Kwon, performing as 10CM, is handling the ending theme, titled "The Darkest Night."

The live-action series draws from a selection of Ito's notable works, including "Lovesickness," "The Rib Woman," "The Bully," and "Tomio: Red Turtleneck." The cast includes Nijirō Murakami, Kanata Hosoda, Yōko Maki, and Rairu Sugita, among others, with directing duties shared by Atsuhiro Yamada, Yūta Shimotsu, and Ryōta Kondō. Daisuke Hosaka is overseeing the scripts, with Tatsurō Inamoto also serving as a scriptwriter.
