The live-action film adaptation of Ryō Nakama's High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku manga has officially shifted its release date. A newly released teaser trailer confirms the film will now premiere on January 8, 2027, pushing back from its initial fall 2026 launch.
The story follows Kotaro as he begins high school, only to find his family disrupting his new life. The manga, which concluded in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2023, is published in English digitally by Viz Media and MANGA Plus.
Leading the cast are Yuno Nagao as younger sister Haruka, Shingo Katori as father Ichiro, Jun Saitō as eldest son Kōtarō, and Riisa Naka as mother Shizuka. Tôichirô Rutô directs the film, with Makoto Ueda of Europe Kikaku penning the script.
Nakama is also known for his previous series, Isobe Isobee Monogatari Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo, which inspired net anime and a stage play.
