The upcoming live-action adaptation of Amekiri’s boys-love manga Chotto Matō yo, Harutora-kun has released a new promotional video. The trailer offers a glimpse into the emotional journey of the series, while also providing the first listen to the ending theme song, "Honeyy," performed by Chihiro.
Set in a high school environment, the narrative centers on Sui, a student who wears a mask and faces bullying after his sexual orientation is exposed. His life begins to shift when he meets Harutora, a new student whose blunt, sincere personality encourages Sui to drop his guard. The series highlights the developing romance between the two as they navigate social pressures and personal growth.
Masaya Sakuragi takes on the role of Harutora Kurobe, with Tsubasa Nakagawa starring as Sui Kishida. The production team has placed a strong emphasis on authentic representation, bringing in lawyer Mimano Kawamoto as an LGBTQ supervisor and Momoko Nishiyama as an intimacy coordinator. The series will feature an opening theme titled "Ichizu no Rinbu" by the group Lienel.
Directed by Keisuke Shibata and Masayoshi Kishida, the drama is scheduled to make its broadcast debut on August 13 via the Dramaphil programming block on MBS. Following the initial premiere, the show will roll out across several regional networks, including TV Kanagawa, TV Saitama, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and Chiba TV throughout the remainder of August.
