The second trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Blue Lock has dropped, offering fans a glimpse of the upcoming movie and revealing its theme song. The trailer prominently features "Monstruo," a new track by popular artist Ado, which plays throughout the preview.
The film is set to premiere on August 7. Leading the cast is Fumiya Takahashi as Yoichi Isagi, with Kaito Sakurai as Meguru Bachira, Kyōhei Takahashi as Hyoma Chigiri, and Kōta Nomura as Rensuke Kunigami. Notably, idol group &TEAM member K takes on the role of Seishiro Nagi, and Masataka Kubota portrays Jinpachi Ego.
Yūsuke Taki is directing the film, with Tetsuo Kamata penning the screenplay. CREDEUS, known for the live-action Golden Kamuy film, is producing, and TOHO will distribute. The original manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura, which won Best Shōnen Manga at the 2021 Kodansha Manga Awards, follows a group of elite high school strikers vying to become Japan's ultimate ace.
The Blue Lock franchise has seen significant success, including two anime seasons and a spin-off film, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, which premiered in April 2024 and performed well at the Japanese box office. The anime series itself, which premiered in 2022, has garnered a strong following and is streamed internationally by Crunchyroll.
