Amazon Prime Video has released a new promotional video and two key visuals for its upcoming live-action adaptation of Bless, the fashion-centric manga by Yukino Sonoyama. The project, which is being presented by Amazon MGM Studios and produced by C & I Entertainment, aims to capture the series' exploration of beauty standards and self-definition. To ensure authenticity in the fashion-heavy narrative, lead actor Ryūsei Ōnishi of the idol group Naniwa Danshi underwent professional makeup training at Shiseido’s SABFA academy prior to filming.
Behind the camera, the production features a veteran creative team. Directors Izuru Kumasaka and Maki Tomita are helming the series, working from scripts penned by Satoko Okazaki and Ichirō Kusuno. Additionally, the Shiseido Beauty Creation Center is providing direct oversight for the production's makeup artistry, emphasizing the series' focus on the transformative power of cosmetics and style.
While the live-action series is set to arrive on Prime Video in spring 2027, the franchise is expanding on multiple fronts. A-1 Pictures is currently developing a separate television anime adaptation, also scheduled for a 2027 release. With the original manga reaching its ninth volume this October and maintaining a strong circulation of over 1.25 million copies, the dual-adaptation approach highlights the significant growth of Sonoyama’s work since its 2022 debut in Shonen Magazine Edge.
