The high-stakes psychological thriller Liar Game is officially set to continue. Following the broadcast of its 26th and final episode this Tuesday, the production team confirmed that a second season is currently in development. To mark the announcement, animation character designer Kei Tsuchiya shared a commemorative illustration for the series.

The first season, produced by studio Madhouse, adapted the long-running manga by Shinobu Kaitani, which concluded its original serialization in 2015. The series was previously made available to international audiences via Crunchyroll, which provided both subtitled and dubbed versions of the 26-episode run.

While the anime adaptation has now secured a follow-up, the franchise remains active in print. Shueisha is set to release the 20th volume of the series, titled Liar Game: The Last Game, on October 19, collecting the chapters from the recent sequel serialization. With the manga's history spanning from the original 2005 run to these latest chapters, it remains to be seen how much of the expanded material the upcoming season will cover.
