The intense psychological warfare of the Liar Game anime continues to grow as the production team confirmed four new additions to the cast. Daisuke Namikawa steps into the role of Solario, a mysterious dealer for the Liar Game Office identifiable by a distinctive sun-patterned mask. The expansion also introduces three new game participants: Yūya Uchida portrays the bespectacled Sho Kikuchi, Hiroko Ushida voices the formidable Tadako Kosaka, and Minoru Shiraishi plays the timid, tracksuit-clad Yuichi Nishida.

These character reveals arrive as the series progresses through its second half. Currently airing on TV Tokyo and its affiliates, the production is scheduled for a continuous six-month broadcast that kicked off in April. The series is being helmed by chief director Yūzō Satō, known for his work on high-tension thrillers like Kaiji -Ultimate Survivor- and Akagi, working alongside director Asami Kawano at studio Madhouse.

Adapted from Shinobu Kaitani’s long-running manga, the anime follows the naive Nao Kanzaki as she is thrust into a brutal competition of deception, only to find an unlikely ally in the brilliant con artist Shinichi Akiyama. The series has already established a global footprint, with Crunchyroll handling international streaming outside of Japan and China. While the original manga concluded its 19-volume run in 2015, the franchise remains active, with Kaitani recently launching the short serialization Liar Game: The Last Game earlier this year.
