Level 5 revealed a new smartphone title, Pufflings: Journey Through a Fantasy World (Gensō Sekai no Puchi Poyon), during its LEVEL5 VISION 2026 Craftsmanship stream. The puzzle game, developed by NHN PlayArt, is slated for release this winter.
The gameplay involves dropping blob creatures, a mechanic reminiscent of NHN PlayArt's previous success with Yōkai Watch Wibble Wobble. The game's premise centers on 'pufflings', unique blended creatures such as a bear-unicorn hybrid, and suggests that fusing these creatures may grant wishes.
Beyond the game itself, Level 5 has ambitious plans for the Pufflings franchise, including the production of animated shorts and a range of merchandise. Footage showcasing the game's trailer and an animated short was presented, offering a glimpse into the fantasy world.
Yōkai Watch Wibble Wobble, known as Yōkai Watch Puni Puni in Japan, originally launched in November 2015. While its service concluded in Western regions by April 2018, the Japanese version remains active.
