The Straw Hat Pirates are getting a blocky makeover in a new two-part Lego One Piece animated special. A fresh trailer reveals a whimsical take on the franchise, featuring Usopp as the primary narrator. The special reimagines the events of the first two seasons of the Netflix live-action series, with Usopp spinning embellished versions of the crew's journey for an attentive Tony Tony Chopper.

The production brings back the core live-action cast, including Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. The special also features Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday and Mikaela Hoover as Chopper. Behind the scenes, the project is helmed by showrunner Tom Hyndman and director Chelsea Ker, with animation production handled by Atomic Cartoons in partnership with Shueisha and The Lego Group.

Series creator Eiichiro Oda serves as an executive producer, ensuring the project maintains the spirit of the source material while embracing the unique Lego aesthetic. This release arrives as the live-action franchise continues its momentum, with the third season, titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, currently slated for a 2027 premiere. Fans can catch the Lego special when it debuts on Netflix on September 29.
