The supernatural world of Nue's Exorcist is heading to television, with a summer 2027 premiere confirmed during the latest Jump Press livestream. The adaptation, which will air on TV Asahi, has already unveiled its primary creative team and voice cast, signaling a significant production effort for the popular Weekly Shonen Jump title.

Directing the series is Hiroyuki Hashimoto, known for his work on Classroom of the Elite, with production handled by Studio Hibari. The project boasts a veteran staff, including series script supervisor Hiroshi Seko—whose recent credits include the high-energy DAN DA DAN—and character designer Shunpei Mochizuki. The atmospheric soundscape will be crafted by the team at MONACA, while the lead roles of Gakuro Yajima and the spirit Nue will be voiced by Kaito Miura and Saori Ōnishi, respectively, with Sayumi Suzushiro joining as Kazusa Suo.

Kōta Kawae’s original manga, which launched in 2023, has maintained a strong following, culminating in its victory in the "Manga We Want to See Animated" poll at AnimeJapan 2025. With the series currently spanning 16 volumes in Japan and receiving ongoing digital and physical distribution through Viz Media, the production has a substantial foundation to draw from for its 2027 debut.

Why it matters: The combination of a high-profile industry poll win and a seasoned production staff suggests this will be a major title for the 2027 summer season. With the premiere window still years away, it remains to be seen how the studio will balance the manga's rapid growth with the pacing requirements of a television series.
