The long-running manga Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life is approaching its final act. Creator Amyū confirmed via social media that the series will conclude in three chapters, with the first of these final installments appearing in the upcoming issue of Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine, which hits shelves on September 4.
Since its debut in August 2012, the series has chronicled the efforts of Takezō, the sole member of his school's koto club, as he recruits the delinquent Chika Kudō to help save the club from closure. The manga has maintained a steady release schedule for over a decade, with Shueisha publishing the 34th compiled volume earlier this June.
Beyond the printed page, the franchise expanded into a two-cour anime adaptation that aired in 2019, as well as a stage play production. While the manga's run is coming to a close, the series remains a significant entry in the music-drama genre, having built a dedicated following over its 12-year history. With the finale now in sight, readers are looking toward how Amyū will resolve the club's journey.
