Kodansha USA Publishing has announced that Saka Mikami, the creator behind the hit manga The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity, will be the featured guest at this year's Kodansha House pop-up in New York City. The event is scheduled to take place from October 9 through October 18 at 508 West 37th Street, conveniently timed to overlap with New York Comic Con.
Mikami’s appearance includes a Q&A session and a signing event on October 10, followed by a second signing opportunity on October 11. Due to expected demand, access to these sessions is being managed through a random drawing. Fans interested in attending can submit their applications through the official Kodansha House website until September 10 at 6:00 p.m. EDT.
This visit highlights the ongoing expansion of the series, which follows the unlikely bond between Rintarō, a student at a school for "dregs," and Kaoruko, a student at a prestigious girls' academy. The manga, which launched in 2021, has seen consistent growth, with the 15th English volume slated for an October 13 release. The series also expanded into animation, with a television adaptation that began its international streaming run on Netflix in September 2025.
Kodansha House has become a recurring fixture for the publisher, previously hosting creators like Atsushi Ohkubo and the duo behind Blue Lock in various cities. With the pop-up located just blocks from the Javits Center, it serves as a dedicated space for fans to engage with creators outside the traditional convention floor environment.
