Manga creators Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura, the minds behind the hit soccer series Blue Lock, and Kamome Shirahama, the artist of Witch Hat Atelier, are set to appear in Los Angeles this summer. Kodansha USA Publishing announced that the trio will be guests at its Kodansha House pop-up event, which will be held in Little Tokyo from July 2nd to July 12th.
In addition to the pop-up, Kaneshiro, Nomura, and Shirahama will also be featured guests at Anime Expo, taking place from July 2nd to July 5th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Attendees will have opportunities to attend panels and get autographs from the celebrated artists.
Blue Lock began its manga run in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2018. The series has since spawned a popular anime adaptation, with a third season currently in the works. Meanwhile, Shirahama's Witch Hat Atelier launched in Kodansha's Morning two magazine in July 2016 and is also inspiring a television anime that recently premiered.
This marks a return to Kodansha House for Shirahama, who was previously hosted by the pop-up in October 2024. Last year's event featured other notable manga artists like Atsushi Ohkubo and Fujita.
