The Kirio Fan Club anime has announced two new additions to its voice cast. Fumihiko Tachiki and Mamiko Noto will lend their voices to characters debuting in the anime's fourth episode, scheduled to air on Thursday, April 4. Tachiki is set to portray Aimi's grandfather, while Noto will voice the mother of Kirio's childhood friend, Nozomi.

The anime adaptation of Chikyu no Sakana Ponchan's manga premiered on April 2, airing in Japan on MBS, TBS, and affiliated channels, with HIDIVE providing simulcast streaming for international audiences. The series follows two girls, Aimi and Nami, as they navigate their romantic feelings for their oblivious crush, Kirio, exploring themes of friendship and love.

The main cast includes Nene Hieda as Aimi Miyoshi, Shion Wakayama as Nami Sometani, and Gakuto Kajiwara as Ken Kirio. The series is directed by Sล Toyama at SATELIGHT, with scripts overseen and written by Aya Satsuki. The manga itself, published by Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha, concluded in August 2024 and ranked tenth on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2025 guidebook's list for female readers.
