The high-stakes world of Killing Bites is finally drawing to a close. Hero's Inc. released the first part of the manga's final chapter this past Friday, signaling the beginning of the end for the brutal series created by writer Shinya Murata and artist Kazasa Sumita. The story, which follows the unwilling participant Yuya Nomoto as he is thrust into a lethal underground tournament of gene-edited Therianthropes, has been a staple of the publisher's lineup for years.

Since its debut in Monthly Hero's in March 2017, the series has maintained a consistent release schedule, moving to the Comiplex website as the publication landscape shifted. The most recent milestone for the franchise was the release of its 27th compiled volume this past June. While the manga is nearing its conclusion, the franchise remains accessible through Mangamo, which holds the digital rights to the series.

For those familiar with the property through its 2018 anime adaptation, the manga offers a significantly more expansive look at the power-hungry forces manipulating the Therianthrope bloodsports. The original 12-episode anime, which aired on the Animeism block, is still available for viewing via Amazon Prime Video, which hosts the series' "director's cut" episodes. With the manga now in its final stretch, the conclusion of the print run marks the end of a nearly decade-long narrative arc.
