The supernatural mystery series Kemono Jihen will take a brief break from publication as creator Shō Aimoto mourns the loss of her brother, who passed away on August 15. Aimoto confirmed the news via her official social media account, noting that the manga will be absent from the upcoming October issue of Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine, which is slated for release on September 4.
Readers can expect the series to resume its regular schedule shortly thereafter. The manga is currently slated to return in the November issue of Jump SQ., arriving on October 2. This pause follows a previous one-issue break earlier this year in February, which Aimoto took to address personal health concerns.
As the series enters this hiatus, it is also nearing its narrative conclusion. The 25th compiled volume, which hit shelves on August 4, confirmed that the story will wrap up with the release of the 26th volume. While the manga has maintained a steady presence in Jump SQ. since its 2016 debut, the upcoming final volume marks the end of a nearly decade-long run for the occult detective story. The series previously expanded its reach with a 12-episode anime adaptation produced by Ajia-do Animation Works, which aired in early 2021.
