Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru (From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman) is gearing up for its return, with the production team revealing two new cast additions alongside a fourth promotional trailer. Joining the series for its second season are Kensho Ono, known for his work in Hell's Paradise, as Warren Flumvelk, and Sumire Uesaka as Shueste Flumvelk.

The series, which explores the life of a humble sword instructor whose former students have become legendary figures, continues its adaptation of Shigeru Sagazaki’s light novel series. The animation duties remain with the collaborative team of Passione and Hayabusa Film, who previously helmed the first season. The project is under the direction of Akio Kazumi, with Kunihiko Okada overseeing series composition and Satsuki Hayasaka returning for character design.

As the franchise expands, it maintains a strong presence across media, with J-Novel Club handling the English light novel release and Yen Press publishing the manga adaptation by Kazuki Satou. With the second season officially slated for Summer 2026, the new promotional footage offers a fresh look at the high-stakes swordplay and character dynamics that define this fantasy journey.
