The production team for the television anime adaptation of Kanojo no Tomodachi (My Girlfriend's Friend) has unveiled its first promotional video, offering a look at the series ahead of its October 5 premiere. The trailer also provides a preview of the opening theme song, "Gingira," performed by the musical unit Airots. The series will begin its broadcast run on Tokyo MX, with a follow-up airing on BS11 scheduled for October 8.
Alongside the trailer, the official website confirmed two new additions to the voice cast: Riho Sugiyama, known for her work in Nami yo Kiitekure, will voice Miyuki, while Ryouka Yuzuki, recently seen in Ao no Hako, joins as Kaori's Mother. The ending theme, "False Love," will be performed by singer-songwriter Ceui, who previously contributed to the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S soundtrack.
The project is currently in development at studio Quad, with Takashi Andou directing and Gokou Shiraki overseeing series composition and scripts. Character designs are being handled by Ryuuji Iwata. The anime adapts the erotic drama manga by Jyura, which has been serialized on Young Magazine Web since 2021 and recently saw its seventh volume published by Kodansha this past July.
