Jura's romantic comedy manga Kanojo no Tomodachi (My Girlfriend's Friend) is officially slated for a television anime adaptation in 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a commemorative illustration from the original manga creator.
Debuting in May 2021 on Kodansha's YanMaga Web platform, Kanojo no Tomodachi centers on high school student Takeru, who has just begun dating his first girlfriend, Kaori. However, Kaori's friend, Tomoko, soon begins to actively pursue Takeru, testing his resolve with her seductive advances.
The anime adaptation will be produced by WWWave Corporation's Deregula anime label. This label, established in June 2023, focuses on adapting intellectual properties from other companies. WWWave Corporation, founded in 2010, has a history of producing adult-oriented manga, including titles in the boys' love and mature romance genres, and also operates the AnimeFesta programming block, which has previously adapted numerous manga from its ComicFesta imprint.
