The popular gourmet gag comedy I Love Dokagui! Mochizuki-san is officially headed to television. The announcement arrived in unconventional fashion on Tuesday, appearing at the conclusion of a one-hour cooking loop streamed by TOHO animation. Studio Passione has been tapped to produce the series, marking a significant milestone for Kamome Maruyono’s work.

The series follows the titular Mochizuki, a character defined by her insatiable appetite for massive, calorie-dense portions. Since its simultaneous debut in Hakusensha's Young Animal Zero magazine and the Young Animal Web platform in May 2024, the title has rapidly gained critical momentum. With the fourth compiled volume scheduled for release on September 29, the franchise is clearly expanding at a rapid pace.

Industry recognition has been a hallmark of the manga's short tenure. Beyond its nomination for the 18th Manga Taisho awards, the series secured the #8 spot in the Web Manga category at the 2024 Next Manga Awards. Notably, it also became the first-ever recipient of the event’s "Nichirei Prize." The series further solidified its reputation by appearing on the prestigious 2026 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! list, cementing its status as one of the most promising comedy titles currently in serialization.
