The upcoming television anime adaptation of Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeoneering Feats of a Discarded Vampire Aristocrat (Kaketa Tsuki no Mercedes) has unveiled its core production team and lead voice talent. The series, which follows the reincarnation of a vampire aristocrat into a dungeon-crawling adventure, is set to arrive in January 2027.

Anna Nagase, known for her work in Koori no Jouheki, will voice the lead character, Mercedes Grunewald. The production is helmed by director Kunihisa Sugishima, who previously directed the second season of Slime Taoshite 300-nen. The creative team also includes series composer Jun Kumagai and character designer Nami Shouyama, with an original score being developed by the duo of R・O・N and Shuuhei Mutsuki. Animation production is being handled by Studio Teddy.

A newly released promotional video offers the first look at the series, showcasing the adaptation of Firehead’s light novel, which has been published by TO Books since 2021. The property has already seen significant expansion, including a manga adaptation by Pochi Edoya and an English-language digital release through J-Novel Club. With the fifth volume of the light novel series recently hitting shelves, the anime adaptation aims to bring the high-stakes dungeon fantasy to a broader audience when it debuts in the Winter 2027 season.
