The Kaiju Girl Caramelise anime is set to debut on July 2, with a newly released promotional video offering a glimpse of the opening theme and revealing additional production staff. METANICK will perform the opening song "Otome Kaijū," while HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily is handling the ending theme "Otome no Honki."
The anime, based on Spica Aoki's manga, will premiere on TBS at 25:28 JST (effectively July 3 at 1:28 a.m.), followed by broadcasts on BS11 and AT-X. The story centers on high schooler Kuroe Akaishi, who harbors feelings for her popular classmate Arata Minami. Upon realizing her emotions, a dormant power awakens within her, setting the stage for a conflict between love and destruction with a twist on shoujo manga conventions.
Teruyuki Omine, known for his episode direction on series like Attack on Titan The Final Season, is directing the adaptation at LIDEN FILMS. Yuniko Ayana is handling series scripts, and Mitomi Nakayama is designing the characters. The production also sees contributions from prop designer Nana Koinuma, kaiju designer Hiroyuki Taiga, and art director SĹŤshi Kuwashima, among others.
The manga has been serialized in Monthly Comic Alive since 2018 and has over 230,000 copies in circulation. Yen Press publishes the series in English. The anime's production is being handled by GOOD SMILE FILM.
