Veteran voice actor Tomokazu Seki has been added to the cast of the upcoming Kagurabachi anime, where he will portray Kunishige Rokuhira, the father of protagonist Chihiro. Seki is known for numerous iconic roles across anime.
The television anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono's manga is slated for an April 2027 release. The series is being produced by Cygames Pictures, with Tetsuya Takeuchi directing and Keigo Sasaki handling character designs. Taihi Kimura is also attached to the project as the voice of Chihiro Rokuhira.
Kagurabachi follows Chihiro, the son of a renowned swordsmith, who seeks revenge after a tragic event. The manga, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023, has achieved significant popularity, surpassing 4 million copies in circulation as of May 2025 and topping the Next Manga Awards 2024 print category.
Prior to its April 2027 premiere, fans can get a preview of the anime. A "world tour" event will screen the first 20 minutes of the first episode starting this July at Anime Expo in Los Angeles and Japan Expo Paris, with further screenings in Germany and New York, concluding with a full first episode screening in Japan in spring 2027.
