Kodansha’s digital service K MANGA has expanded its catalog with the addition of Golden Phantom, the latest supernatural project from manga artist Daiki Yamazaki. The series is now available to international readers as a simulpub, keeping pace with its ongoing Japanese serialization.
The story centers on Shingo Asahina, an ordinary father whose family trip to an amusement park takes a dark turn. During the outing, Shingo encounters a bloodied stranger who issues a dire warning: the park is destined to become a site of catastrophe within 30 minutes. To avert this impending "hell on Earth," the mysterious man insists that he must possess Shingo’s body, thrusting the protagonist into a dangerous supernatural conflict.
Yamazaki, known for his previous work Chaos Game, launched this new title in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine earlier this year on February 25. The first compiled volume was released in Japan on July 22. This addition follows the conclusion of Yamazaki’s Chaos Game, which ran from 2022 to 2024 and was also distributed in English via the K MANGA platform.
