Jujutsu Kaisen is returning to the stage for its fifth theatrical production, shifting focus to the fan-favorite Shibuya Incident arc. Titled Butai Jujutsu Kaisen -Shibuya Jihen Zenpen- (Stage Jujutsu Kaisen -Shibuya Incident Part 1-), the production is scheduled for a limited run across Tokyo and Osaka this November.
Kensaku Kobayashi returns to the director’s chair for this installment, with Yūki Kubota—who reprises his role as the formidable Tōji Fushiguro—taking on screenwriting duties. The cast sees the return of series staples, including Ryūji Satō as Yūji Itadori, Ryōsuke Miura as Satoru Gojō, Gaku Kumazawa as Megumi Fushiguro, and Nonoka Yamaguchi as Nobara Kugisaki.
To accommodate the expanded scope of the Shibuya narrative, the production team has introduced several new cast members to the ensemble. Yūki Kamisato joins the production as the cursed spirit Mahito, while Rihito Tachibana and Hiroto Kuroiwa will share the role of Ui Ui. Other new additions include Soma Suzuki as Naobito Zenin, Kanon Maekawa as Kasumi Miwa, and Kento Sampei as Haruta Shigemo.
This production marks the latest in a consistent line of stage adaptations that have covered the series' major milestones, beginning with the original 2022 run. Following the recent conclusion of the manga in September 2024 and the ongoing rollout of the television anime’s Culling Game arcs, this stage play provides a specialized look at one of the franchise's most intense story beats.
