Warner Bros. Japan announced that the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run anime's second stage will commence on September 25. New episodes are set to stream weekly on Fridays, with the second and third stages combined totaling 11 episodes. The announcement was made during Warner Bros. Japan's Anime Expo panel, where new character introductions for Mountain Tim, Funny Valentine, and Hot Pants were also made.

As one of the highest-rated anime on MAL with a 9.13 score from over 96,000 voters, the continuation of Steel Ball Run carries significant anticipation. The series, animated by david production, is a split-cour production on Netflix, meaning it will air in blocks with breaks in between. The first stage, a 47-minute premiere episode, debuted globally on Netflix on March 19.

The anime features a returning star-studded cast, including Shōgo Sakata as Johnny Joestar and Yōhei Azakami as Gyro Zeppeli, with Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi directing. Yasuko Kobayashi returns for series scripts, and Yūgo Kanno is back to compose the music. The adaptation covers Hirohiko Araki's acclaimed manga, which ran from 2004 to 2011 and comprised 24 volumes, concluding the overall manga series before Araki launched The JOJOLands in 2023.

Viz Media is releasing the manga in English, describing the story of the Steel Ball Run as a cross-country race in the American West, where paralyzed former jockey Johnny Joestar joins forces with Gyro Zeppeli to compete for a massive prize. The manga adaptation is the latest in david production's extensive work on the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise, which has adapted every part of the manga since Part 1.
