Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo Switch topped Japan's video game sales rankings for the week of May 4-10, according to data from Famitsu. The life simulation game sold 149,245 copies, pushing its total sales past one million.
Following closely behind were other Nintendo Switch titles, with Pokémon Pokopia taking the second spot with 28,312 units sold and Mario Kart World at third with 10,941 copies. Several evergreen titles also maintained strong sales, including Minecraft, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, all of which have accumulated millions of sales over their lifespans.
Other notable entries on the chart included Momotaro Dentetsu 2, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Nintendo Switch Sports. The list also featured upcoming releases and recent ports, indicating continued consumer interest across a wide range of Nintendo's popular franchises. Capcom's new release, Pragmata for PlayStation 5, entered the rankings at number 20 with 2,212 units sold.
